From April 14 to May 15 2024, I, Alessandro Berti, student of the 3DS class, had the opportunity to spend a month in Darmstadt, Germany, which was an enriching and educational experience.
During the first week, I attended the Heinrich-Emanuel-Merck-Schule (HEMS).The classes were conducted entirely in German, which helped improve my language skills. With the support of the students and teachers, I followed lessons in Networking, Informatics, Programming, and Electronics, gaining new skills and reinforcing my existing knowledge. This week allowed me to meet new people and build friendships with students and teachers who were incredibly welcoming and supportive.

A lesson I attended
For the following three weeks, I joined ENTEGA, a leading energy company in the region, working in their IT department, Count & Care. This division specializes in IT services and innovative technological solutions. I collaborated with other students and employees on various projects involving 3D printers, laser printers, Microbit, Maqueen, Husky Lens (AI), and Arduino. This experience significantly enhanced my technical skills and provided practical knowledge in microcontrollers, AI applications, and programming. The supportive and collaborative environment at Count & Care allowed me to develop my project management and teamwork abilities, making me feel comfortable and engaged in the professional workspace. During this time, I also made new friends among my colleagues, sharing experiences and learning together.

Throughout my stay, I was warmly welcomed by local families who made me feel at home. Their hospitality and kindness added a personal touch to my experience in Darmstadt, making it even more memorable.
My month in Darmstadt was a period of growth. I gained new technical skills, improved my German language, and gained valuable professional experience. Most importantly, I met new people and made friends who enriched my experience and will remain in my memories. It was a beautiful journey.
